WHEN DOES IT TAKE PLACE?
Our Garden Ride is taking place on Friday 1st November, but cycle training will take place on the run up to the event.
WHAT TO EXPECT?
When you visit any of the sites you will receive a Garden Ride passport and free wristband. For every new site you visit, you will receive a stamp on your passport and another wristband. How many sites can you visit in one day?
Has your bike seen better days, or does it need some TLC? Don’t worry – there will be a Bike Doctor from Bikeworks at Growing Together Westcliff on the day. They’ll be able to check that your bike is safe to ride and make sure that everything is in working condition for the big day.
WHO CAN TAKE PART?
This event is suitable for the whole family. You can do as much or as little as you feel comfortable to do. If you’re not very confident on a bike, don’t worry, our partners ForwardMotion are providing FREE cycle training before the event, and they will be leading two guided rides on the day as well.
Confident cyclists can pick up a map from any of our sites and ride between them at their leisure. There will lots going on BUT watch out for opening times, some sites are only open for a couple of hours, and some are open all day.
If biking is not for you then why not walk to one of our sites or join our guided walk leaving the Royals Shopping Centre at 10am? You can also do self-guided walks using our map of the area.
HOW DO I GET INVOLVED?
You can just ride to any of our sites on Friday 1st November, but if you want to take part in cycle training, the guided rides or guided walk, you will need to register.
Please note that we strongly recommend you wear a safety helmet when riding.
